2022-2023 Sudden Impact

The Louisiana State Police and Lafayette General Medical Center are ready to make a SUDDEN IMPACT on our sophomore students.

This year, our 10th grade students may participate in the Sudden Impact Safe Driving Program at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. The students will travel by bus to Lafayette on an assigned day in February to hear from law enforcement professionals who work the accidents and investigate the crashes and hear from health care professionals who care for patients and families following crashes.

The sophomore class will be divided alphabetically by last name into three groups: the first group, Anthony – Foret, will attend on Monday, February 6th. The second group, Fremin – Nicholson, will attend on Tuesday, February 7th. The third group, Oubre – Wyman, will attend on Monday, February 13th.

Students will need to bring a bag lunch and report for attendance at school in 1st period, then their teachers will dismiss them to the bus loop by 8:20 a.m. on their assigned day. The program will supply snacks.

The cost of the trip is $8.00 and must be paid by Friday, February 3rd at 3:00 p.m. In addition, each participant will have to submit a 3 page, hard copy permission slip that both the student and parent complete. A sophomore class sponsor will distribute these to all sophomores closer to the date of the first trip. It will also be emailed to parents and students with reminders AND you may find a copy of the form by clicking this link.
