*** We will separate the campers by grade levels, so that we can have two distinct camps. Our camp is a dual camp that emphasizes football-specific work and strength and conditioning work.**
Cub Campers – 5 years old to 12 years old (6th grade max)
The camp is designed to introduce and teach campers about the rudimentary fundamentals of football. Campers will learn basic stance and start for every position. They will be put through the gamut of running, catching, blocking, tackling, and throwing of the football game. Each day they will participate in individual/team competitions to promote a competitive spirit at the camp. Most of all the camp will be
FUN! They will learn aspects of the game and have a lot of fun doing it.
Cub Campers – 7th graders – 8th graders
The camp is a more in-depth camp because of the age group of the campers. Campers will be introduced and taught more profound concepts and aspects of the football game. Campers will learn the stance and start for every position. They will be put through the gamut of running, catching, blocking, tackling, and throwing of the football game. Each day they will participate in individual/team competitions to promote a competitive spirit at the camp. The camp will be demanding and tough, but in the end, they will have achieved a deeper understanding of the game. We have designed this camp to educate the campers as if they were already apart of the Might Panther football program. Regardless, this camp will have provided you the tools to excel as a high school football player.
All Cub Campers
We will introduce to all campers’ functional movements for strength, conditioning, and speed. The mission is to create a fun strength and conditioning atmosphere in which the athletes will grow to love it and become passionate. If it is fun, they will like it. If they like it, they will learn to love it. If they love it, they will grow a passion for it. If they are passionate, they will set goals, be committed, and excel at it! We at CHS pride ourselves on the strength and conditioning program created for all sports, and this camp is a great way to get accustomed to what you can expect as you move up to the varsity level of your sport.
Performing fieldwork (speed and conditioning), we will teach our campers simple mechanics of balance and control, which will help them gain confidence. We will teach campers proper running form and agility techniques needed to enhance their athletic performance. Performing weight room work, we will teach our campers terminology of squats, lunges, pushups, pull-ups, and core stability. We will enforce safe and straightforward techniques for each of these exercises. In doing so, this will create a discipline and effective weight room environment.
